First Noel
If we're going to be reflecting on past Sam and Fuzzy Christmas stories, there's none more momentous than this one... 2004's First Noel!
Yes, I really must have a soft spot for Christmas specials, because I decided that was how I'd tell the story of Sam and Fuzzy's first meeting! I think I was probably a little influenced by The Simpsons, which also began with a Christmas special that explained how they met a member of the family. (Although in that case, said member was their dog, haha!)
I hope those of you who celebrate have a great Christmas. And if you don't, I hope you have a great Wednesday! See you on Friday for a final seasonal throwback that looks to... the future!

A Christmas Carol
Fridge gets a rare new speaking role in this brand new intro to today's Christmas Special Throwback! Don't say I never did nothin' for ya, Fridgy.
This particular unhinged "adaptation" of A Christmas Carol originally ran in 2015. It is absolutely laden with nonsensical Sam and Fuzzy cast cameos that will make no sense unless you have read the full S&F archive. But hey, if you haven't... get to it!

Jesse's Girl
Today's throwback holiday special is from 2019 -- no, I am not running them in chronological order, ha ha -- and was the very first story I drew after completing the main Sam and Fuzzy saga! At that point, it had been many years since I'd been able to do a proper Christmas story, because I was always right in the middle of some big non-Holiday-themed chapter whenever December rolled around. So I was happy to be able to do one again! This time around, I've included some cover art, which I originally drew back then as a Patreon bonus.
This story also served as a test to see how future "Dev and Jess" stories might work. (Up until that point, the characters had not been paired together very often, which seems so crazy to me now!) I'm quite fond of this one... in addition to being the start of a beautiful friendship, I also like how much it feels like an actual sitcom "Christmas Episode."
In other news, I wanted to share this little sketch I drew yesterday after watching the new Superman trailer! Obviously, Jesi and I are big fans of scruffy dogs, so we are pretty delighted about Krypto. We were at the hospital yesterday for round 2 of Jesi's chemo, and I actually just drew this on the iPad right there in the hospital while I was sitting with them.

Anyhoo, that's all for this week. But see you on Monday for more "holiday antics".
