Friggin' buying all of those, one way or another. Out of the box, play with 'em all day.

Of course I'd much prefer this style to the new Nickelodean's show's, but if that is the price I must pay for even a paltry revival I will take it.
That said, they do have a pretty awesome Sewer Lair set.

ZOMGZOMGZOMG...

Knowing Mattel I'd hate to see the price of it.. also I have to wait 12 months for the Voltron Mattel are also bringing out so I don't know if I could afford to pay/wait for both.. On the topic of Voltron and Mattel, Red Lion ships out to subscribers (THAT'S ME!) today (14th).. so I'll be wetting my pants when that arrives.. Available online on 15th for everyone else..

Eitl I need your help. I want this really bad, but 30+ bucks for a vinyl figure is a little above my normal self imposed spending limit. How do you normally justify spending money on this crap to yourself? Convince me please so I don't feel guilty.

FUCK ME IT'S DONE BY TOUMA!
When did this come out?
$30 is pocket change when it comes to designer vinyl. I just bought a rare 6" piece for US$130.
Shop around see if you can find it cheaper or someplace with free shipping. Sometimes you get lucky.
BUT hows this: Buy it or I will. Hahaha.... Serious. :|
Actually i'd prob put the money towards a giant knucklebear instead.
As for justifying it. You can't really. Unless it's rare reselling isn't great.

Very recently, as far as I can tell.

Finally ordered those TMNT Classics figures. I had trouble finding them in stock anywhere online in Canada, and ebay's prices were okay but with about $50 in shipping. Yesterday while browsing other things, I discovered Toys 'R' Us has a Canadian website, which never even occurred to me, and not only were they in stock the shipping was free. So yeah, pretty pleased with that.

So about 10 months ago Matty Collector released the first instalment of Voltron.

Its been a long year, but today I received the last lion. Black Lion. I made a whole lotta noises that probably shouldn't come out of a 29 year old man. I activated interlock, connected the dynotherms and shouted GO VOLTRON FORCE!
Image
Its seriously massive. BUT that's where the fun ends. When you spend about $300 on a robot you expect something good. Bandai's Soul of Chogokin line has some rather large and hefty combiners that are partly made of diecast, the transformation is the best engineering in toys you'll ever see and you feel like its worth something. I have a few of these and they shit all over Voltron.
Voltron is all plastic, the joints are restrictive, the transformation is something from 20 years ago and some of the paint apps and sticker applications are a bit shoddy. Its a kids toy with a collectors price tag. You know what it is, its a jumbo combiner.
These are jumbos by the way. They stand about a 60cm tall, have wheels on their feet and only the arms and head rotate. Oh and usually they have a rocket punch gimmick.
Image
In fact there is an actual jumbo voltron:
Image
Its pretty identical to the jumbo except it doesn't pose as well. Really the only draw cards being its sheer size and the fact that it comes with crappy figurines that you can put in each lion.

I've wanted a voltron ever since I was kid, when I went to a friends birthday party and his mum got him a voltron.. So I had to get this. The proportions were right and the size fucking awesome.. but just poorly designed with shoddy quality control.. It will be the first and last time I ever use Matty Collector. The next Voltron I get will be either and original from the 80s or perhaps when Bandai tackles it for its Soul of Chogokin line..
If your interested in one, I'd try source the jumbo.

I actually have that third Mazinger there, but he's missing his left hand since I bought him at Value Village for like a dollar.

I have a Voltron I bought at a yardsale as a kid. (This one, but not the castle and pilots. I just got the pic off ebay.) He's only about half the size of the jumbo Mazinger though when combined.
At some point as a kid I lost his sword, and I also dropped him, breaking the black lion's right shoulder. Now that I'm old enough to know the difference between model kit glue and white glue, I should try and fix it properly. I really wish I knew what happened to his sword. It's not the type of thing I tended to lose as a kid, and it was pretty huge to just go missing.

The show hasn't even aired yet, but Fox already has a toy line ready to go. I don't know if it's presumptuous or not.

This is normal right? Just check out Hasbro. But I guess for an unknown show they gambling on the similar success like Adventure Time.
