It's ridiculous yeah, and I'm not exactly quick to jump up and defend our rating system. But Blizzard we're stupid to ignore the classifications for the games and just sell it anyway. They're at fault here.

I thought it was that the ratings board itself says that multiplayer games don't need classification, but the New South Wales Police are suddenly being sticklers about the game being unrated, despite that WoW isn't even considered in that vetting process. The same for a bunch of MMOs. Sounds like bored cops that needed some busy work.

There is no law anywere that says that online only games don't need to be rated. I'm pretty sure Age of Conan, Warhammer etc all got rated.

To be fair, New South Wales is a third of Australia's population and the most famous city. That's kind of like if New England was a state, and California didn't exist.
