The Daily Events and Anecdotes Thread

Everyone likes to talk about themselves! Do it here so I don't have to read it. Ha ha! Just kidding. I'm actually illiterate.

I suppose if we're all idiots, we're all equal. :P

In other news, I pretty much got my dream job more or less, so that's good.

I had a wonderful night! So there was that girl from last year who I really liked but stuff never seemed to work out between us, timing wise. Well she had a party tonight at her house, which as it turns out, is on a cool little island on the coast of CT that can only be reached by a footbridge. There was a bonfire on the beach in her backyard. So cool! Super jealous of houses like that.

Things were going pretty well between us, plenty of flirting, plenty of drinking, but as things were wrapping up and I was trying to get a minute to just talk with her, she got sick. Herp-a-derp. The whole party ended on that note, but it was alright. It was awesome to see her again, and she told me she wants to see me again this week. It's always rough to get the timing right with her, but a chance is a chance is a chance, and she's pretty damn perfect. And at worst, the night was at least a success in terms of me just being an all-around charming guy and making a bunch of new friends. Other than the one friend I brought with me, the girl was the only person there I knew, but I met a bunch of great people!

Easily the best night of the summer so far.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure I landed what is quite possibly the best job ever.

Paid the girl a follow up visit a while ago, and it was far more awkward. No flirting, really. And now she's gone for five weeks anyway. Eh, no harm no foul, I guess. It just kinda sucks.
I also found out that she's giving up on being a professional musician. I know she was always skeptical about it, but she is hands down one of the best performers I've ever met. It's really disheartening to see her give up.

But in related news, I have a friend who wants to set up a record label and he came to me as one of the first people he wants to sign. This makes two labels that want me, the other being the school's label. There would be pros and cons to both. The school one actually exists right now, which is a good start. But it's a school operation, and it'll only help me so much. My friend's would be better for getting me further career-wise, but it would have to get off the ground in the first place. He's got a guy with a lot of great resources and a couple of good ideas, so it's possible for it to work, but I'm not crossing any fingers.

All in all, both options are better than nothing. It's an appropriate first step, and probably matches what I'm ready to handle right now. We'll see how it all goes come my return to school in the fall.

We should have a jazzy jam together sometime.

Oh man, I wish I played a thing. A SnF jam session via Skype or something would be rad.
