Hi Rez
Do you remember Renaldo? Of course you do! I don't know why I even asked. Good job!
Well! Lots of interesting games on display at e3 this year. I'm particularly excited about Child of Eden -- a spiritual successor to Rez, helmed by the original creator.
But nothing makes me happier than the continuing resurgence of sidescrollers. For a few years there, it felt like the advent of 3D graphics had left my favourite genre relegated to handheld systems and the occasional niche console title. But they had a good year last year, and this year is shaping up to be even stronger. Limbo, Scott Pilgrim, Kirby: Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Rayman Origins... it's a great mix of old school and new school, nostalgic throwbacks and fresh takes.
Looks like there are going to be a whole lot of things sliding from left to right on my TV this year! And I'm not talking about lop-sided screen leeches. (Today.)

Sell Out
Our latest storyline begins today! This is the one you've been waiting for, folks. At long last, you will be treated to the triumphant, highly-anticipated return of this guy who was in one comic you probably don't remember. Yessss!
It's E3 this week! What will be the biggest gaming news reveal? Harmonica Hero? Wii Canoe, with pack-in oar peripheral? Kolibri 2? Can't wait!
-Sam Logan
PS: Just show me something that proves Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in production, Ubisoft. Please?
A new story begins next week! Tune in on Monday for the start of fresh shenanigans. But until then, let's pass the time with...
Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Sinful Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!
"Did you Google what a fig looks like before or after creating Fig Pig's design? After googling it myself I think he kind of looks like one." -Jake
Oh, I googled it first, Jake. I am a professional.
"I totally saw this coming, but I thought it was too soon. I know that in the timeline there's a few years of difference and in real time, probably about a year (or more), but, doesn't it feel like too soon to use him again instead of including a new character?" -Nicolás
It was very important for me to work in this seed-planting cameo as early as possible. That way, I will look extra clever when it becomes unexpectedly relevant in nine or ten years.
In seriousness, there's a reason why Mr. Sin was the only major antagonist to actually survive the last volume of Sam and Fuzzy. I have a use for him! (Although not necessarily the kind of use you'd expect.)
"Oh my god, where are Sin's eyebrows? Did he forget to put them on again?" -Katy
I know! Can you believe that? And he put the wrong first initial on his desk placard, too. Talk about absent-minded, right?
"What colour is Fuzzy? Off-white? Beige? brown? I ask because I'm working on a tiny plush version of him and realized I have no idea what colour he's supposed to be!" -Jade
This subject came up once before... certainly in reference to Sam's hair, if not Fuzzy's fur. Basically, on the rare occasion I draw either of them in colour, I just use whatever shade my heart desires at that moment. More often than not, it's some sort of shade of lighter brown, but I don't hold myself to that and you don't have to, either!
Whatever colour you wind up using, I'd love to see the plush when it's finished. (And I bet everyone else would, too!)
That's a wrap! Have a great weekend, everyone.
