Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Ethical Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!
"I'm a young artist and a long time reader. I admire how your comics have developed and I'm curious about it's developed for you. Maybe you always wanted to be a cartoonist, but were you always passionate about it? Where does the work ethic come from? " -Sage
I honestly couldn't tell you where the work ethic comes from, Sage. But I was producing ridiculous quantities of comics for years, long before I ever put anything online. I'm talking literal thousands of pages of (borderline unreadable) cartoons, even when I could only convince a handful of unfortunate friends and family members to read them.
Of course, that was before the internet... before there was any real way or expectation that a child or teen cartoonist could reach a larger audience at all. You just had to draw comics for the love of drawing comics. And that's exactly what I did, because I guess I just really flippin' love drawing comics!
"So... is anybody going to mention Aaron's robot hand to Dev?" -Riley
I'm not sure! Maybe she already knows. After all, Aaron did use the screwdriver to help verify the extra Fuzzy's robot-cloniness. Uh, somehow.
"Any progress on those mugs you mentioned a while back? I'm looking forward to buying one." -Anket
Ah, yes... our vanishing ninja mug! Sadly, we've had a bit of trouble tracking down a manufacturer that can produce the mugs with the disappearing/reappearing design effect at the quality and quantity we want. But we're working on it!
Failing that, though... how many of you would be interested in purchasing a regular, design-always-showing mug with the same wrap-around graphic? Let me know what you think!
"So how come Sam wasn't aware that X and Y were Fuzzy's new body guards? Doesn't he check his staffs timesheets or look over the accounts? (Assuming Fuzzy is paying for them.) Surely they are too loyal to go freelance!" -J
Fuzzy probably just approached them told them that Sam had approved their reassignment. I imagine appropriate quantities of persuasive ability and raw stupidity were present on either side of that conversation equation.
That's a wrap for this week! See you on Monday, team.
