Aaaah Comic-Con Week!

It's that time again! San Diego Comic-Con: North America's biggest, craziest, longest, most exhausting, and most outrageous show for movies, games, toys, and other geek pop culture. (And they have some comics in there, too.) I will be there all four days, and preview night, at the Topatoco booth! You can click the image to see it on a map... one that only shows half of the ridiculously enormous show floor. Whew!

Among other things, Topatoco will have our two newest items at the booth... the new book, and the tanuki t-shirt. And they'll also have me, doing sketches and commissions and generally causing trouble. If you're going to be at the show, come visit me and my friends! You will not regret it.

But if you can't come to the show... worry not! Our new stuff is also available online, in the Sam and Fuzzy Topatoco Store! Many of you already have, and for that, I am incredibly thankful. (We may get through all the free Fig Pig bookmarks I printed quicker than I thought!)

And yes, you can even simulate the convention experience and get a signed copy of the book with a sketch inside, thanks to the swanky bookplates I put together! Here's a random handful of the ones I've drawn so far. (All carefully using ideas and characters I didn't use for the Volume One plates, so no one will winds up with two drawings of the same thing!)

New book! New shirt! Holy smokes!

So, did anything interesting happen between Wednesday's update and today's? YES. In case you didn't see... the brand new Sam and Fuzzy Are Very Famous book collection is now on sale, as is a brand new shirt. You can order them online, or pick them up at next week's San Diego Comic Con! Either way, It is an exciting time to be alive.

I am so happy with how these turned out. If you're a fan Sam and Fuzzy, then trust me... these books are the optimal way to consume it. They're gigantic (400 pages!), they're gorgeous, and they help put food on my table and pens in my hand. And if they do well, we can make even more books and eventually collect the entire archive... my greatest dream!

Just like last year, picking up a copy will also get you into a new year of free Book Club digital bonus goodies. But the first bonus is actually a real life item that comes packed-in with early copies of the book... a completely authentic Fig Pig is on a Bookmark bookmark, painstakingly crafted in the manner of SanPresto's endless Fig Pig product line. We also have a brand new t-shirt... Tanuki Plumber! Sometimes, an idea just comes to you in the middle of the night, and you have to make it a reality. This shirt is one of those things. I hope you like it as much as I do! Yes, believe it or not, there might actually be a couple honest-to-goodness one page comics in this volume! You could say I put them there because I was trying to balance out all the extra three and four pagers. Except there are a lot more of those. And a lot less of these. So basically, you'd be saying I was a failure. And you'd never say something that mean about me, would you?

...Right?

Truth be told, I just try to chop up these stories into the chunks that make the most sense. Sometimes that means going over, and sometimes that means going under. And sometimes it means going completely crazy. Which I'm good at!

San Diego Comic-con is only a week away! As always, I am psyched and terrified. But mostly psyched, because I'm going to have some exciting new items to debut at the show! (And online too, of course.) Anticipate!
