Labourious
It's Labour Day! And it's also my birthday, which I suppose makes it quite literally "labour day" for my mother. Thanks, Mom!
Today's comic length is shorter than usual -- one printed page instead of two -- not because of the holiday or my birthday, but because I lopped off the second half of it and attached it to Wednesday's comic! DID YOU KNOW: I actively try to make the breaks between my updates fall in logical-feeling places, which is why my strips tend to vary in length from time to time? And this sequence,as you'll soon see, definitely flowed better as a single-pager and a three-pager instead of two two-pagers. FACTS.

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Marked Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!
"I bought your comic book "Sam and Fuzzy" at Anime Revolution a few days ago, and took a look at your art on Tumblr. What kind of markers do you use?" -Tyson (Reposted from Tumblr)
I mostly use Prismacolors, or sometimes Promarkers. I usually colour on the computer, though, and only really work with markers at cons, so I’m no expert! I use the lighter pastel colours because the streaking is less noticible even when I am colouring fast, which is often the case at cons.
The black lineart is all done with Staedtler and/or Zig brushpens, which are what I use for everything.
"So what does Alexa think about Sam vanishing? Heck, this is the second time this has happened to her. Or it is too soon to ask this question? Same question applies to Nicole." -Tom
I'm not sure if we'll really delve into Alexa's reaction much, but I imagine she is just exasperated with Sam's screwball life more than anything. (Especially since she does, after all, own the now-destroyed office suite that Sam was renting for N-M-S.)
Nicole's reaction, on the other hand, is osmething we will definitely be delving into within the comic, so I'd best stay quiet on the subject for now!
"Will we ever get more on Sin's real appearance beyond "Space gopher"? Because I can't stop wondering what he looks like. " -Anket
In general, I think it is better for "never-fully-seen" type characters to remain left to the reader's imagination, where they attain a kind of mysticism that no reveal could ever really live up to. (And you especially shouldn't reveal their face via an action figure, like they did with Dr. Claw!) I don't think I'd show something like Sin's "true form" on-camera unless there was a really compelling narrative reason to do it.
That's a wrap for this week! See you on Monday, team.

Master of my domain
I am super excited this week, because I finally managed to snag a domain name I've been trying to get my hands on for ages for a secret project. I don't know how many of you have experienced a similar victory, but if you haven't, trust me... it is a satisfying feeling. Now, if only I could get "ninjamafia.com"!
As a little experiment, I'll be doing an appearance here in Vancouver at BCIT's "Tech Days", which occur on September 10th and 11th in the Student Union Building. I have absolutely no idea how this will go! But I've wanted to try a school event like this for awhile, and the folks who help run it convinced me to give this one a shot. Perhaps I will meet a few new readers, and/or make some new ones. We will see soon enough!
