Sam and Fuzzy Fall "Western Canada Tour" (Ha!)
You might have noticed that I have added a couple new conventions to my schedule! The Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo (October 20-21) and Winnipeg's Central Canada Comic-Con (Nov 2-4).
Edmonton Expo is a brand new show put on by the Calgary Expo folks, while Central is one of Canada's biggest and longest running comic-cons. Both are in cities I have never visited before. (At least, not as a cartoonist... childhood family vacations are another story!) It's always exciting to do a show in a new place and meet so many readers for the first time. I'm really looking forward to it, and hoping both shows kick enough butt to justify repeat visits in the future.
I'll also be doing one more Vancouver appearance this year. You will be able to find me at the Vancouver Gaming Expo (Nov 10-11), even though it is not a comic convention, because I am a dork and I like video games. (And because Brian, the dude who runs it, throws some seriously fun events!) I'll be bringing all my usual swag, plus one or two slightly more unusual gaming-themed items. More details as we get closer to the show!

Notes of note
Evolution 107.9, the British Columbia Institute of Technology student radio station, will be running an interview with me today at 9AM PST! If you'd like to hear it, their station streams online right here
Also, last minute appearance notice: if any of you Vancouver-area readers attending Vancouver Mega Comic-Con this weekend, you can find me at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival booth, which I'll be helping Shannon man over the weekend. Although it's not exactly my usual Sam and Fuzzy con routine, I'll be sure to bring my art supplies and a few books and shirts, just in case anybody would like something!
Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Candlestick Maker Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!
"Can you create a "Shoulda Ordered Pizza" kitchen apron? I will be the first to purchase one." -Evrim
OK!
The "Shoulda Ordered Pizza" apron gag was conceived in the Topatoco San Diego Comic-Con booth at the height of con madness. I've been pushing to use it in Skull Panda ever since, but Rikk kept saying no. So I was very pleased when the Sam and Fuzzy story finally presented a logical place to slip it in as a background joke.
But it's also an apron I would actually like to wear myself in real life, so I'm totally going to make them! I think I have a pretty fun visual design for the text that visually incorporates the fruits of Fuzzy's culinary abilities.
"As far as your Green Lantern commission work goes, why in the name of Sector 2814 would you pass up the opportunity for a terrible pun and have Fuzzy instead of SIN-estro?" -Jordan
Well, technically it was the fellow ordering the commission who picked the characters! But even though Sin would make a delightfully pun-ny Sinestro, I think his personality makes him a pretty solid choice to represent Greed, too. And given the current story arc, I think it's kind of fun to cast Fuzzy as Sam's arch villain!
"Is the story now at a point where it could be read in chronological order? I'd love to be able to read through the story in the order of the time that has passed in the story." -Ryan
You could! I mean, technically, an insanely dedicated soul could read Sam and Fuzzy in chronological order at any time... all it takes is a few hours of obsessive, laborious rearranging. But there are still quite a few key "holes" in the Sam and Fuzzy timeline, and until those moments are revealed, I think a chronological read would still have some confusing gaps.
That's a wrap for this week, team. See you on Monday!

Skull Panda Loves Skull Panda
Did you know: after a brief late-summer hiatus, Skull Panda returned last week, and is currently providing a weekly triple-dose of Rikk Estoban/Sam Logan collaboration over on the Skull Panda tumblr! Meanwhile, on my own tumblr, I am chronicling the creation of a big Sam and Fuzzy Green Lantern parody commission I'm working on, step by step! Truly, there are words for you to click and stuff for you to look at.
Did you also know: Today is my awesome wife's birthday! She's in England for school right now, so I can't give her birthday wishes in person. But I can find out if she actually reads these newsposts!
