Gottacon next week

My first convention of the season arrives next week. It's Gottacon, in my old hometown of Victoria, BC. Like last year, I'll be in the exhibitor's area with my pal Alina from Weregeek, and we'll have a wide array of fun swag n offer. We'll also be doing plenty of original drawings and commissions, and signing whatever you stick in front of us. So if you're going to be at the show, come on by!

A good chunk of the Sketch Off pin-up originals have already been scooped up, but there are still a decent number available if you're interested! You can have a look at 'em all in the gallery here.

I've also added a bunch of new custom commissions and newly-coloured pieces to the gallery, too, that were drawn after the Sketch-Off was over. Those ones were all pre-purchased drawings, so you can't nab 'em yourself, but you can still look at 'em, at least!

Sketch-Offed

The Valentines Sketch-Off was a big success! People were were having so much fun with it, I felt bad having to bugger off earlier than is the Sketch-Off norm... so I came later in the weekend for a surprise second batch.

You can see the full gallery of finished drawings by clicking the image below! (There were even more pieces than in that preview, believe it or not.) We interpreted the pin-up/valentines theme pretty broadly, but I think we got some great ideas out of it. I did them in the style of the mailer commissions this time around... smaller 8x5.5" pieces with greytone shading added.

As usual, if you'd like to purchase any of the originals, they can be had first come first serve, $25 for black and white pieces or $50 for colour. (And yes, b&w pieces can be colourized.) You can also get any one of them as the included original drawing with the original art version of the new ebook. Just email me to stake your claim!

Yup, it's that time again! Starting at the slightly rescheduled time of 12:30 pm (pacific time), I will be live-drawing original 8 x 5.5" drawings based on my favourite suggestions you tweet and email me! You can watch the drawing live at livestream, or just see the finished drawings as I post them on twitter.

This time around, I'm drawing pin-up style sketches, so I want to hear your costume/design ideas for a particular Sam and Fuzzy characters. Fabio-styled romance novel Edwin, burlesque Gert, catsuit Hazel, Lady Gaga Nic, Victoria Secret Skull Panda... you decide! I'll be pick my favourite ideas -- be they especially funny, cool-sounding, thematically appropriate, or just really fun to draw -- and make 'em real.

As usual, if you'd like to buy one of the finished drawings, I'll be selling them for $25 in black and white, or $50 in colour, plus $5 shipping. (Just email me if you see one you like!)
