"If the pit is so bad then why do Committee members even have codes? Why not just destroy all information pertaining to its location so there is nothing to worry about?" -Tom
The original Committee clearly felt it was important that future Committees be able to locate the pit if necessary. The codes provide a way... albiet one that would require the unanimous support of all 31 Committee members to execute.
It's hard to say why the Committee did this without actually knowing what's actually in the pit.
"Will we ever find out what's actually in the pit?" -Dave
MAYBE
I feel like answering that directly would be a spoiler! But I can confirm, at least, that I know what's in the pit.
"Am I right in thinking that you still draw and ink each page by hand? If so how much paper do you manage to get through? Do you ever have any foul ups that ruin a page half way through? And if so do you start again or use digital trickery to fix it? Also, I am really curious, do you still have all the pages sitting in around somewhere? How much room does that all take up?" -James
Yup! I still draw the core Sam and Fuzzy art on paper. (Although I do all the panels, lettering, and grey toning on the computer.)
