Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Genre Edition

"On Page 1116, Hazel tells Brain to give Mr. Blank "the full treatment," but on Page 2008, Hazel claims that they don't deliberately mindwipe people. Is this a case of Hazel lying, of "the full treatment" meaning something else, or of you changing your mind about Brain and Hazel in the intervening 900-ish pages? Or is it something else entirely?" -Richard
"The full treatment" definitely means what you think it means.
Hazel claimed they used Brain's mind-tinkering abilities with restraint, and that all the complete mind-wipes were accidental. Based on some of what we've seen, I'd say the truth is probably not quite as black and white as that. Even if her confession was intended to be earnest -- and I am neither confirming or denying that it was -- it probably is still a little revisionist.
"If we recently participated in the Sam & Fuzzy RPG Kickstarter, will we be Book Club members once it gets delivered?" -Bradson
After a few years on the Book Club model, I decided to shake things up a bit this year! Instead of sending out a few smaller bundles of bonuses throughout the year, I just made one big bundle of bonuses for Volume 4. (The Art of Fate Sketchbook and the 2014 Desktop Pack, which are now available to buy on Gumroad for those who missed them!) Similarly, there will be one big bundle of bonuses that will come with the RPG gamebook when it ships out to backers a little later this year.
"Will Hazel be sticking around for the rest of the current story arc [that began in Sam and Fuzzy Fix Your Problem]? All this recent plot exposition is making me worry for her continued...er...longevity (even though I know you've previously said you've little interest in randomly killing off characters)." -BartyMae
This arc (which is still a couple years away so don't panic) will be a massive upheaval of all things, just like the ends of the previous two big arcs. I can't say who will still be breathing by the end -- that would be a pretty huge spoiler!
But I can confirm I'm not really a big fan of random shock deaths of major characters. (Or at least, not in the context of Sam and Fuzzy.) If anyone buys the farm, it'll be because they earned it narratively.
A new story starts on Monday. See you then, team!
