I think this is not much of a spoiler to clarify: no, it does not! The device allowed them to interface with each other's... er, brains, but no copying took place. It was just a temporary melding of the minds! (Hence Fridge's disappearance from Unit 01's monitors the moment Brain was disconnected.)

"I'm going through the Sam & Fuzzy archives for, like, the 14th time, and I still am not certain on Roan's gender. Roan looks pretty androgynous, despite wearing a skin tight suit most of the time, and I feel like Roan has been referred to as he and she in the past." -Anthony

Roan is a trans dude! However, his earliest (internal timeline-wise) flashback appearance took place before he had transitioned. (In those sequences, he is occassionally referred to by other characters as 'she', which is probably what you are remembering.) The fact that Roan transitioned isn't really adknowledged within the comic itself outside of one extremely slight reference, because, well, there wasn't really any time or reason for anyone to bring it up, given all the chaotic happenings that tend to occur during Roan's appearances!

"I was just wondering how you choose the conventions you go to, and how far in advance you know what ones you'll be attending.  Do you take suggestions for new cons to visit?" -Sam

Over the last couple of years, I've tried to cut back a little bit on my convention appearances, which has whittled my con schedule down mostly to my stable of "regular shows" like Calgary Expo and Gen Con. But I do still try to attend one new show a year, so I'm always open to suggestion! (This year's experiment is Anime Expo in Los Angeles in July.)

I'm on vacation this week, friends! But you know what isn't on vacation? Sam and Fuzzy! (Because I drew a bunch of comics before I left.) Our next strip arrives on Wednesday, as usual.
