New Shirts!
Guess what, friends? It's new shirt day! I've got three new designs (and one variant) up now in my online store.
First up: Pay Attention to Me! As you can see, this design is available in two possible variants. The "Pay Attention To Me" version was the original, but my friends and I could not stop cracking up about the special "all meows" version. So I decided... why not both?
And what about these two shirts? Well, yes... they are pop culture references! <3000 is my take on the "Love You 3000" line from the big superhero punching movie. The idea for this graphic sprung into my head immediately after I saw the movie and has been gnawing at me ever since. I kept assuming someone else would make it! But as far as I can tell, no one ever did. So, in the words of the purple guy... fine, I'll do it myself!
And I'm Pickle is, of course, is a reference to the popular pickled vegetable! I go to a lot of comic conventions, and I gotta tell you... my marketing research suggests that there is a massive, massive demand for a shirt that says "I'm Pickle". That was it, right? Yeah. I'm sure I didn't leave anything out.
That's a wrap for today! But come back on Wednesday for our next comic. See you then!

Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Tense Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!
"Thank you so much for the Zimvoid! Are you going to be writing more about the Zims, or Zim stuff in general?" -Sarah
Thank you, Sarah! I'm really glad to hear that you (and others) enjoyed the recent four part Invader Zim story that I wrote. (For those who didn't know, it ran in issues 46-49 of the Invader Zim comic book, and featured a whole lot of alternate timeline versions of Zim.)
I will definitely be writing more Zim in the future! After issue 50, the comic is switching to a new format, with longer issues released quarterly rather than monthly. I'm actually writing a story for that new quarterly series right now! It doesn't involve alternate Zims, but it does involve a character I really love that I haven't been able to work with much until now.
"I was curious about the level of tension, now that we've finished the main story. Are you planning out any stories where the stakes are high, even if they're not saving-the-world high? (I'm not pushing for that or anything, but I was curious if the format of these smaller stories precludes that possibility.)" -Chris
It would be hard to match the world-ending stakes of the big S&F finale, but no, I don't think doing shorter stories means there won't still be some pretty high stakes stuff!
It's definitely true that these most recent couple of stories have been more about contemplative emotional conflicts ("I'm not getting along with my Dad", "I'm not sure music I want to write"), rather than super urgent physical ones ("I'm being kicked out of my apartment", "a vampire is trying to eat me", "the world is ending"). But I think that's probably just because, after spending a year writing and drawing all the over-the-top action and chaos of the big S&F finale, I was really in the mood to do some lighter, more comedy-focused character-driven stories akin to some of the earlier Classic and Noosehead-era chapters.
But while I'm not planning on threatening to destory the world again any time soon, I am definitely going to be doing some more stories revolving around action/adventure, crime stuff, and other things that are bound to get a little hairy. So, prepare thyself for stakes of varying levels! I can have it all!
"Long time fan really enjoying your work. As I am old and old school, I like to reread comics on a dead tree, preferably pulped and pressed into sheets. Is there any plan to release the rest of Sam and Fuzzy as books? Well, it has not really ended but it has hit a milestone which has changed everything. Are there plans for Omnibus 6? Happy to throw money your way for that, so just thought I ask. " -Thomas
I'm real glad people keep asking about this, haha! The final 2 S&F books -- it will take a set of two to contain the entire final volume, haha -- will be Kickstarting as soon as I get all the cover art and reward design finished. I would really like to have had them Kickstarting now, but it's been a really hectic couple of months and taken longer than expected to get it all ready! I will be sure to let you all know as soon as the Kickstarter launches. (Soon!!)
That's all for this week, team! See you on Monday with our next comic.
