America loves Gir
My Invader Zim DVD arrived in the mail on Monday, and I'm really enjoying it. Of course, I've seen these cartoons a million times already, but it's worth it just for the DVD quality picture and sound. Not to mention the extremely entertaining audio commentary tracks from the creators, which -- despite some pretty heavy editing -- are still full of jaded jabs at Nickelodeon for censoring (and eventually cancelling) the show.
It's amazing to hear just how bitter creator Johnen Vasquez really is about the entire process, but I sure as hell don't blame him. It must be tough to move from the self-directed world of independent comic publishing to non-stop compromises of network television. I know I would certainly have problems with it.

Here come the bombs
Yes, paycheque, not paycheck. It's the wacky
Canadian (and
British) way. This might make you wonder why then the name Jack is only Jacques in French, but hopefully it doesn't.
I'm honestly not sure which of the two
Ninja Mafia shirt designs is in the lead right now. It's been awhile since I last went through all the orders and counted the numbers for each. But last time I checked, the two designs were pretty close --
Three Ninjas was in the lead by only three or four shirts. If I had to bet money, I'd guess that the quirky Ninja Van shirt will be the one coming in second, but you never know!

Welcome to the man who wanted everything but couldn't have it
Well, here we are at the first update of Sam and Fuzzy's third year. It's been an absolute joy for me to watch my little black and white baby grow from a sketchy mess with four regular readers into the MIGHTY WEBCOMIC BEHEMOTH that it is today.
OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration. But I swear, sometimes that's what this site feels like to me and you guys are the reason why. I couldn't have done it without the fans who emailed and encouraged me to keep it up, the webcartoonists who befriended me and helped me get this thing off the ground, the folks whose dual penchants for t-shirts and original art have transformed the site from an income drain to an income supplement, and of course, the Ashton, my insane code-monkey buddy who has kept this site running smooth and minty fresh. This is as good a time as any to say, "Thanks guys! You're awesome."
And with that out of the way, it's time to go back to taking you all for granted. BA-DUMP TSH!
The fanart gallery has been updated with a whack of new items -- one of which is in fact related to the two-year anniversary. If you too feel the urge to create some commemerative fan art for the occassion, it's not too late yet. But it will be soon. No pressure.
