The world loves us and is our bitch

Whoops! Sam and Fuzzy passed the three-year milestone a few updates ago, but I was so busy with the move that I totally forgot about it. But I promise you, the 500-comic milestone will be impossible to miss. I've been working towards that sucker for ages!

John is running my third Scary Go Round guest strip on Thursday. It took some serious effort, but I think it turned out fairly well. John is a tricky man to fill in for, and it's not getting particularly easier with practice!

Disenchanted in this land of a thousand chances

It looks like Sam and Fuzzy has been nominated again this year for "Outstanding Black and White Art" at the Web Cartoonist's Choice Awards. I'm never quite sure what I think about having a seperate black and white category... in a lot of ways, I feel the same way about it that I do about the new seperate Academy Award for animated features. On the one hand, it seems strange to single out one particular medium like that. Outstanding art is outstanding art, and art that happens to be black and white should theoretically be able to compete in the same category as art that is painted, vectored, pixeled, crayoned or computer coloured. But on the other hand, without a seperate category, I would never get nominated for any awards. So, uh, thanks guys! My money is on the gorgeous Wapsi Square to win, but you never know!

I've recieved quite a few messages from folks asking for a t-shirt featuring Chompy (pre-fur). If this is something you would like as well, email me and let me know. I've got a pretty good idea of how I would like it to look.

Grarrble!

Yikes! It's nice to see the Sam and Fuzzy site back in action again after being down all day Thursday. All the server needed was a reboot, but the service request queue was long and the wait was even longer.

Fortunately, we made it back up in time for me to bring you the next installment of the Chompy saga. But there's still one more week of this storyline to go before we move on to other things. You can expect your painful confusion to be alleviated (somewhat) by the end. See you next week!
