Don't stop the buck when it comes
Whew! It has been a busy week, full of abnormally large comics and piles of books to sketch. I've just finished up and sent off the last of the sketched book two-packs... sorry it's taken so long! There were a lot of drawings to do, and I didn't want to rip-off anyone with a lame rush job. (Example: Fuzzy standing behind a large, texture-less white box.)
Just for giggles, one lone book has a sketch of one of the totally new characters that will be appearing in Sam and Fuzzy Volume 5 (which will be starting later this year). I have absolutely no idea who is getting this one... but if you ordered a sketched book and didn't request anything specific, it might be you!

Fool me once
Apologies to anyone hoping for some serious April Fools action around here yesterday. To be completely honest, I forgot all about it! And, in a sense, isn't that the funniest joke of all? (No.)
My good friend and one-man-cartooning-army Ryan Estrada was recently inspired to do a little unsolicited Conscience Cat / Skull Panda hardcore slash fanfic. Just kidding! It's a drawing, not a fanfic, and it's not at all sexual.
Or is it?
No, it's not.

Conscience Cat
Selecting new t-shirt ideas is a tricky process. They have to be based on a joke or idea that stems from one of my comics in some way -- that's the only real rule I force myself follow -- but which strips lend themselves best to potential shirt designs?
This is a subject that we don't all always agree on! Sometimes reader requests catch me totally off guard, suggesting shirt ideas that sound totally unfathomable and weird to me. And on the flip side, sometimes I write a joke that I think, in retrospect, would actually make for a fabulous shirt... until I find out that not a single other human being seems to agree with me. (Not that I have always let that stop me... HA!)
But right now, I think we are having a rare moment of alignment. Because a large number of you wrote in on Friday to tell me that you think Conscience Cat would make for a neat shirt. And this time, I think you're right! I was really happy with that strip, and I like how conscience cat's design turned out. So, I will see what I can come up with!
